Papawai Press Limited is a small, family owned publishing company. Books have been a large part of all our lives and we want to be able to share quality New Zealand books with other New Zealanders.

New Zealand is unique in many ways, not the least of which is that we are a long, skinny country bisected by, and surrounded by water. Papawai ~ land and water.

Our lives and, therefore, our stories, are bound up in our relationship with both the land and the sea. We live much of our lives between the land and the water. Papawai!

From the time of Kupe, the coming of the Maori, to the ships that brought the European settlers, our history has been moulded by the sea that carried us here and by the land from which we carved out our lives and livelihoods. Papawai. Land and sea.
